New Year’s resolutions are great conversation pieces at holiday parties, but in reality many of us let them slip away by February.  This year instead of making a resolution that won’t stick, I am making a few small gestures that reduce my footprint.  Yes, I will bring my own bags to the store & my own water bottle to work, and will ride my bike more.  Easy breezy! I will also read more about environmental challenges to be better informed.  I’m starting with Thomas Friedman’s Hot, Flat, and Crowded.  Friedman offers the large view, but also, poses innovative solutions.  Hum… maybe by 2010, I’ll be ready to start a book club.
